and your son or daughter have chosen to become part of our community, and look forward to assisting you as a member of the Niner Nation family. As a unit within the Division of Student Affairs, our programs are intended to assist parents and families in understanding the goals and expectations of this dynamic University community, and to introduce you to the valuable services and programs available on campus.

On behalf of the Office of Niner Nation Family, we extend a special invitation to you to join other parents and families interested in sharing and supporting their student’s educational experience. Because we realize that parents are a very important part of the university community, we will strive to provide programs and services to parents and families of UNC Charlotte students and commit to:

Join Niner Nation Family

The mission of Niner Nation Family is to provide communication between the parents and families of the UNC Charlotte student, in order to support student success and promote family involvement within the campus community. Membership is open to all parents and families.

 Benefits of Joining Niner Nation Family:

· Niner Nation Family, a print newsletter for parents and families of UNC Charlotte students, mailed directly to your home twice a year (fall and spring)

· Parents Calendar, a publication which includes vital facts on academic and administrative departments, services, dates, and phone numbers.

· Relatively Speaking electronic newsletter sent monthly. It features articles about how you can help your son or daughter through some of the common challenges of college life, as well as information about upcoming UNC Charlotte events.

Sign up for Niner Nation Family

It is FREE to every parent or family member who completes a Niner Nation Family membership form on-line. By filling out the membership form you will automatically be placed Parents listserv. The Parents listserv is an announcement-only email service designed to send updates on campus events, reminders for deadlines and dates, and information on University activities. To sign up, simply complete the form and mail it or fax it to the Office of Parent and Family Programs or email parents@uncc.edu. 

Family Weekend

Every fall parents and families have an opportunity to come back to UNC Charlotte and share with their student in many activities and events, such as athletic events, programs provided by students, faculty and staff the entire weekend. As the weekend approaches, parents and families should check the Niner Nation Family website for registration and program.

Family Day

Every spring, the Dean of Students Office invites family members of current students to campus for a day to experience UNC Charlotte. This event is held in conjunction with Homecoming. Families gather to enjoy our beautiful campus, eat delicious food, win fabulous door prizes, meet some of our faculty and staff, listen to informative presentations and cheer the 49ers on to victory in their annual Homecoming basketball game.

Registration is open to all parents and families for a nominal fee. Please stay tuned for updates and more information about this fun event!
